The Griffith AMS has a Registered Psychologist on hand 5 days a week to provide support when life becomes unmanageable.
Around 45% of Australians aged 16-85 will experience a common mental health-related condition, such as depression, anxiety or a substance use disorder in their lifetime (National Survey of Mental Health and Wellbeing, 2007).
A shortage of mental health support and stigma surrounding mental illness can deeply affect people with a mental health issue. At the Griffith AMS we are conscious of the challenges of limited access to mental health services and irregular support to people living in regional communities such as Griffith.
